about king of texas roofing

A Leading Commercial Roofing Company in Texas

King of Texas Roofing is a third-generation commercial roofing company with roots dating back to 1931 and official establishment in Texas in 1982.

From million-square-foot distribution centers and data hubs to cold storage facilities, medical campuses, and corporate environments, we’re trusted to handle the most complex commercial roofing projects on time and on budget.

What defines us is not only the scale of our work but the people who make it possible.

Every roof we build reflects care, skill, and pride from a team that treats each project like their own.

At King of Texas Roofing, roofing is about people as much as it is about performance. Our full-time, in-house workforce is the most certified team under one roof in Texas and among the top in the nation.

Our roofers are trained and supported to do their best. Many have been with us for decades, and several families now have multiple generations working side by side.

With two full-time safety directors and extensive OSHA 30 training, our crews set the standard for job-site safety. Protecting our people honors the trust they place in us and the trust our clients place in our name.

Our Story

Rooted in Tradition. Built for What’s Next.

Our story began in 1931, when Robert W. King founded the family’s first roofing company in Pennsylvania. His commitment to craftsmanship and integrity became the foundation for what would later become King of Texas Roofing. In 1982, his son-in-law Nelson R. Braddy, Jr. officially established King of Texas in Texas, building on that legacy to serve the growing commercial market across the South.

Today, CEO Kelly R. Braddy leads with a modern, collaborative approach, blending the “old way” of craftsmanship and loyalty with the “new way” of technology and collaboration.

Nearly a century later, King of Texas Roofing stands as one of the most trusted names in commercial roofing, combining heritage, innovation, and a people-first approach to deliver excellence on every job.

1931

The King family’s roofing legacy begins in Pennsylvania with a small residential roofing company built on craftsmanship and integrity.

1965-1975

The business expands from residential to commercial roofing, establishing a strong reputation for quality and reliability across Pennsylvania.

1982

The second generation brings the company’s expertise to Texas, officially founding King of Texas Roofing and completing its first major project: the airport terminal at DFW.

1990s

King of Texas Roofing grows into a large-scale commercial contractor, delivering projects for warehouses, industrial facilities, and corporate developments across the region.

2019

Kelly Braddy assumes leadership as CEO, guiding the company into a new era of innovation, safety, and operational excellence while continuing its family legacy.
